Carrie (1976)
…rrie has all the elements that I look for in a film. It’s got some action, horror (based on a novel by Stephen King), a young John Travolta, snooty kids invoking the anger of a gifted, crazy, abused kid. Awesome! You have to see this film if you haven’t already, and if you have you should watch it again. It’s a classic horror flick and is considered to be the best by some. You’ll probably get drawn into the film quckly by the smattering of female… Continue reading

Trick ‘r Treat (2008) Review: All Treats, Some Tricks

While many horror movies celebrate the spirit of Halloween (not to be confused with Spirit Halloween), none celebrate so literally as Trick ‘r Treat. I wouldn’t trust this dude around my kid. Or my pumpkin. This anthology horror film follows four different, interconnected stories. There’s the neighborhood square, a group of prank-happy teens, stripping twenty-somethings, and the curmu… Continue reading

Webseries: Universal Dead Starring Doug Jones, D. B. Sweeney, Gary Graham Soon to Be a Major Motion Picture – in 3-D!
…entist who may have discovered the secret to mankind’s salvation. Starring D. B. Sweeney, Gary Graham, Doug Jones. As popular as zombie fiction has become, one of the great challenges for filmmakers is to come up with their own original twists and fresh stories. Survival horror is survival horror, after all. Right? Well, Universal Dead certainly has a twist or three. When I asked Parks if they’d chosen the title because Universal Dead = Un. Dead,… Continue reading

Coming Attraction: October 2011 Previews!
It’s October, which usually means that the theaters will be chock full of horror flicks to celebrate the arrival of the Great Pumpkin! This year is a little low in the blood and gore department, though. Maybe no-one wants to spend money making a horror movie when the ultra-cheap Paranormal Activity series keeps dominating the theaters. Pumped to See: October 14: The Thing October 21: The Three Musketeers Neither Pumped Nor Pissed: October 7: Real… Continue reading
