Catwoman (2004)
…etter way to start off the best series, “Chicks Who Don’t Want Flowers for Valentine’s Day,” than with the worst movie, Catwoman! Catwoman has earned herself a spot in my series because she is a kick ass female, despite what the movie showed us. I don’t understand how Catwoman had so many good actors like Halle Berry, Sharon Stone, and Benjamin Bratt and yet sucked so hard it created a black hole the size of Jupiter. This film was nominated for 7… Continue reading

Carrie (1976)
Another chick who doesn’t want flowers for Valentine’s Day is Carrie White. This telekinetic young girl will protect herself and exact revenge on anyone who messes with her. Well, she might actually want some flowers and a maybe a kind word or two, but instead gets a lifetime of terrorizing by her classmates AND her mother (Piper Laurie). However, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right? All the terrorizing made Carrie’s telekinetic power… Continue reading

The Classic Sci-Fi Action Movie (well, half an action movie): Aliens (1986)
…and blew ‘em into outer space. Our next woman who doesn’t want flowers for Valentine’s Day is Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley in Aliens. The sequel to Alien, which only had one alien, actually has multiple encounters with aliens, thus the slightly confusing name. Aliens is a classic action movie that came out in 1986, chock full of suspense, mixed with action and even a little bit of humor at times, not to mention what everyone wants in a movie:… Continue reading

Ultraviolet (2006): The Monster You Don’t Want Knocking Down Your Door
…s as well. Last year I inducted her into Chicks Who Don’t Want Flowers for Valentine’s Day for her role in Resident Evil. She’s so awesome that she is being added to the category again for her role in Ultraviolet. Ultraviolet is similar to Aeon Flux and Resident Evil. It is about a highly contagious virus that gets out into the real world (sound familiar yet?) and turns people into vampire-like creatures called hemoglophages. Of course, humans get… Continue reading
