If you’re in the Dallas area this weekend, you can visit the semi-annual Dallas Comic-Con. Katrina covered the previous DCC for G4TV’s series Attack of the Show!, which certainly played a role in her later winning the competition to become G4’s 1st official Next Woman of the Web (kind of like how twitpal Adrianne Curry was the 1st America’s Next Next Top Model winner but with 100% less Tyra Banks in her face). She met many interesting people and stayed in touch with most of those she interviewed there – like 30 Days of Night author Steve Niles, Witchblade star Yancy Butler, and even some Zombie Wranglers who later attended the Women of the Web watch party which Red Carpet Crash together with Dallas Comic-Con co-founder Mark Walters threw for her when the TV special revealed Katrina’s big win.

This weekend Katrina is an official convention guest with her own table where you can meet her, get photos, or even pick up a “Tweet Hello to My Little Friend” shirt for less than they cost on Cafe Press.

Dallas Comic-Con may not have the sprawling spectacle of San Diego Comic-Con International or nearly as many stars, but neither are the long lines of SDCC or WonderCon. The actors and comics industry professionals in attendance are more accessible. One after another, fans and pros alike have told Katrina that they actually enjoy the smaller con more.
