Book Review – Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament (2009)
…who have passed away in one way or another and are then “reanimated” into zombies. This is a great story about zombies struggling to live in a world full of humans (breathers) and abide by their rules. S. G. Browne masterfully balances action, love, and comedy, all the while sending a message about equality. Well done, Browne! If you like zombies, Breathers is a great book to pick up. It makes you think about something other than just blasting a… Continue reading

The Walking Dead 3-5: Weirdbury, Population Andrea
…erle, the Governor’s nerdy doctor pal, and a few ruffians go out and catch zombies in a pit as part of their “research,” and pull their teeth out. Later, The Governor takes Andrea to the “party” which involves Merle and another no name dude fighting in the middle of a “ring” surrounded by zombies. They each try to stay away from the walkers/push the opponent into them, but, like all good wrestling, the danger is all staged, seeing as how the walke… Continue reading

Becky (2020): Grits, Anyone?

Normally with such easy to hate bad guys, you’d be rooting for them to get their asses handed to them like they’re the big bad at the end of a Shonen story arc and our hero’s just discovered a new form. But the villains are infused with such little life you’ll just be rooting for them to get off the screen. Even experienced (t… Continue reading

The Walking Dead 3-2: Big Boy Pants for Everyone!
…doesn’t listen to Rick and opens double doors, letting in a huge horde of zombies. During the chaos of the attack he pushes a zombie on top of Rick, which would have gotten him bitten were it not for Daryl’s rescue. So, now we’ve established that the ring leader is defiant, cold-hearted, and willing to do what it takes to stay in charge. This guy sounds like a real problem… if only Rick would man up and take him down now so he wouldn’t come back… Continue reading
