Action Heroine versus Horror Heroine – What’s the Diff?
…ore than virginal horror heroine. Slickriptide: Horror Chick: Punished for sexuality. Action Chick: Sex is a weapon. quicksilverwest: Female Action Hero: Offense – Sexuality, Weaponry and Body. Female Horror Heroine: Defense – Sex, Coyness, Naiveté MarcyChen: Action heroines rarely get caught in the rain with a very thin bra, horror heroines do.eg: Jlo in Anaconda vs. Jlo in the Cell. KanUDig_It: To be fair the thin shirt/wet bra combo is a metaph… Continue reading

Interview – Boti Bliss on CSI: Miami, Ted Bundy, and How Ghosts Fall in Love
…of keep an innocent point of view from it. The hard scenes for me were the sex scenes just because there’s like sexual deviance going on and there was stuff that he want her to do and that was really disturbing. AFC: I obviously noticed the one where you all were in bed and he had your feet tied to the bed post and it just looked grueling. Did that take a long time to get that shot? Boti: No, in fact we worked really fast because we were really ju… Continue reading

Let Me In vs. Let the Right One In
…In grabs your attention a lot faster than the original just by taking one scene from the middle of the original and placing it at the beginning of the film. So I guess as an English speaking American who loves getting to the action as quickly as possible, I think I prefer the remake, Let Me In, even though they are both very good. The remake cut out a few of the unnecessary scenes, making it a tiny bit shorter; it got to the action more quickly;… Continue reading

Best Romantic Action Movie?
…: Team America: World Police. Tons of action and we all remember that love scene. It’s the definition of romance. Katrina Hill (@actionchick): You have an interesting dictionary. Amanda Bladon (@amandarbladon): A spam bot instantly followed me as I wrote that. Maybe she liked the “love” scene in Team America a little too much. Further observations: Miss Nina Beretta (@redridinghood83): lol those are my favorite romance/action but you haven’t starr… Continue reading

Interview with David Leitch (Part 2)
…to be said, but then the rest was improvised within the description of the scene. If I had to do that again, I would script a lot more. It wasn’t a traditional script but all the actors I had were improv actors except for some of the celebrities. Some of them performed improv too but it was just one of those things where the more scripting the better. AFC: Well, it worked out very well. I enjoyed it. David: Oh good. There’s actually the distributo… Continue reading
Jennifer’s Body (2009): The Not-So-Pretty Side of Megan Fox
…that I really enjoyed more than the rest, but considering the rest of the scenes, that’s not a great compliment. It’s a scene involving Fox and Seyfried and they are making out. And I’m talking about making out, not just a kiss. They went for the gold. Bravo, girls! If you’re going to do something, you might as well do it right. That scene alone could fill the seats with hormonally charged boys across the nation. But (there’s always a but), don’t… Continue reading

Fit to Kill (1993) Review: Not Fit to Watch
…he faucet, which, according to this movie, is the universal signal to have sex. Fit to Kill does not even compare to the awesomeness of Hard Ticket to Hawaii. The characters are flatter, the action is worse, there’s a general lack of the memorable weirdness like inflatable sex doll assassins, death frisbees, and genetically-enhanced animals terrorizing everyone. There are some weird and funny parts there and there, which was more than enough for m… Continue reading
