Interview: Horror Director Tim Sullivan (Scream Queens 2, 2001 Maniacs, Driftwood)
…ch week, take them through a director’s challenge where I direct them in a scene, an original scene that could be from, a standard horror film, and then I take the girls through it. What we usually do is we let them come one the set and bring what they were gonna bring to the performance. I give them my notes, my direction, and then we see how well they listen to the redirect. And then the toughest part – it’s getting tougher and tougher as we’re… Continue reading

Zombie Apocalypse on SyFy: Interview with Gerald Webb
…ust amazing. Ving, Gary, Lesley-Ann and Johnny were there for part of that scene. When Ving Rhames came up and complimented my work after the scene, I was all serious like “yeah, thanks, Ving”. Meanwhile somewhere inside my mind I was doing a happy dance and screaming like a 12 year old Bieberbot! That was a good moment. AFC: You told me you have several projects going on right now. What else can we look forward to seeing you in? GW: It’s hard fol… Continue reading

Kill Boksoon (2023): The Korean John Wick?!?
…storytelling, but, like, would it have killed them to get a few more fight scenes in here?? The opening scene features Bok-soon fighting one of the greatest modern Samurai. Great! Sets the tone, displays some humor, and shows that Bok-soon will do whatever it takes to win, even cheating. And then… talking. More talking. So much more talking, in fact, that the next fight scene doesn’t take place until around 32 minutes in. Then more talking, a coup… Continue reading
Crank (2006): Including the Manliest Kill Ever!?
…ent of cinema. The one black mark against it I will say is that the public sex scene has some non-consensual elements to it that really drag it down (something the sequel smartly decides to do differently). Consent is important, people! CRANK That said, Crank is still a hell of a great ride overall, and one of Statham’s favorite films from his considerable body of work (and what a body it is, hubba hubba!). Crank: High Voltage takes things into an… Continue reading

Zombie Week 2009: Dawn of the Dead Interview This Week
…. Eastern (6 Central for us, 4 Pacific for Kim), the Chick is interviewing Kim Poirier who played Monica in the Dawn of the Dead remake (one of the few films to get a 5 out of 5 rating from our kaboom-pinching movie critic) and the sexy extraterrestrial succubus Constance Snowden in Decoys and Decoys 2: Alien Seduction. Kim hosted the Canadian science fiction news program HypaSpace which might give her a very different perspective on the industry…. Continue reading
