Schwarzenegger spent three months learning to speak Russian, and Belushi spent two weeks working at a Chicago police district headquarters. Director and producer, Walter Hill, thought Schwarzenegger was too muscular and asked him to lose 10 lbs; however, he asked Belushi to gain 10 lbs.
