Inglourious Basterds (Movie Chicks on Action Flicks)
…/2 (rant) by Kat (different Kat, not Katrina Hill): “Although I’m a fan of Quentin Tarantino’s, I’m sad to say I did not enjoy this film. With a running time of over two hours, the film felt long and dragged out to me.” Site: Movie Mobsters Post: Inglorious Basterds (2009) by Heather: “Inglourious Basterds was a pure and simple masterpiece. To me it isn’t even debatable that this has been the best movie I have seen in 2009, and even more so probab… Continue reading

Review: Django Unchained- Chain Yourselves in, Lads, it’s a Good One!
…icy mother of a movie, and I’d expect no less from writer/director Quentin Tarantino. If you like Tarantino’s style of wild and thoughtful film-making, you’re sure to love this one. Django is violent, extremely bloody, and has a unique story wrapped up with some overly verbose scenes. My usual complaint about a Tarantino film is that there’s way too much needless talking, but that wasn’t as big of an issue for me this time- the story felt stronger… Continue reading

Inglourious Basterds (2009): Bad Time to Be a Nazi
…movie was good. I am not going to rave about but it was enjoyable. In true Quentin Tarantino fashion, there was a ton of talking and a little action. However, when the action did happen, it was pretty brutal. There was enough scalping going on to weave a rug out of Nazi hair. Man, there was a lot of sitting and talking, though. It seemed like they just talked for 2 ½ hours. Just sitting and discussing the movie premiere and the war and how they wo… Continue reading

A Wild Ride Indeed: Action Flick Chick Theme Song
…readers may know best from the credits of Death Proof, the latter half of Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse double feature. “Sweet theme song style song,” Amanda said, “with a retro grindhouse genre feel to it.” I wonder if the 1964 French song it’s based on (“Laisse tomber les filles” sung by France Gall) is now in the public domain. Seems likely, doesn’t it? The Girls of Death Proof Because the Chick Is a Bird of Prey: “Looks That Kill” by Motley… Continue reading
