The Warcraft franchise is a giant at this point- in addition to a successful line of strategy games, the IP has had a stranglehold on the MMO world for closing in on a decade. Blizzard’s had so much success with their baby, in fact, that they decided to make film based on it, but it got caught up in development hell. Well, Warcraft has escaped hell and found a director: Duncan Jones, director of Source Code. Jones is an avid supporter of a Warcraft movie, and long ago said that a really great film could be made about the world of Azeroth, but a single lurking problem remains: most video game movies tend to suck. Will Jones gather enough resources to make a great flick? We’ll have to wait and see.
