The fifth Universal Soldier movie (or third if you only count those with Jean-Claude Van Damme) comes out on video today. Courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Action Flick Chick Katrina got to give away some videos this weekend. She decided to award them through twitter based on answers to the following question:

@actionchick: UNIVERSAL SOLDIER TRIVIA: What is Deveraux’s code number? What is it a reference to? Do you want Blu-ray or DVD?

The winners:

@BlkDahliaMurder: @actionchick Deveraux’s code number GR44 is a reference to director Roland Emmerich’s first film Moon 44. (and DVD)

@Limacher78: @actionchick GR44 the director was German, Named Roland, and his first movie was Moon44 so GR44? Blu Ray if I’m right, but I don’t think so!

So Nestor Roman Banda gets the Universal Soldier: Regeneration DVD and Paul White gets a great 2-pack with both Regeneration and Universal Soldier: The Return on Blu-ray. Well done.

Synopsis:
————–
With stolen top-secret technology, terrorists have created a next-generation Universal Soldier – an elite fighter genetically altered into a programmable killing machine. With this “UniSol” (Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski) leading the way, they seize the crippled Chernobyl nuclear reactor, threatening to unleash a lethal radioactive cloud.

The only one who can stop them is Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a UniSol who’s been decommissioned for years. Reactivated and retrained, Deveraux must make a full-out assault on the heavily armed fortress. But inside, he’ll discover not one but two of these virtually indestructible warriors. Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren), Deveraux’s vicious UniSol enemy from the original Universal Soldier, has been secretly reanimated and upgraded.

Now these elite fighters are locked, loaded and programmed to kill; and the fate of millions hinges on this high-action showdown.

Universal Soldier: Regeneration is rated R for pervasive strong brutal violence and some language. Special Features are NOT RATED.
