In recent years, female poker players have proven that they are just as dominant in poker games as their male counterparts.  No longer can they just be evaluated solely on their looks, but rather on their true poker skill.  Here are some of the most dominant female poker players in poker.

Vanessa Rousso

Known as Lady Maverick, Rousso has been one of the hottest poker players on the circuit for years.  By hottest, we aren’t just talking about her good looks.  Since bursting onto the poker scene in 2006, she has made over $3.4 Million in poker events.

Her biggest live score to date is a $700,000 win in the High Roller Championship at the European Poker Tour Grand Final in 2009.  She also has a 3rd place finish at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic in 2010 for another $358,000. (Image source: trb.com)

Liv Boeree

Liv Boeree is easily considered one of the most attractive female professionals in poker.  However, in the past couple of years she has proven to also be one of the most dominant in the game.

The former model turned poker pro had her big breakthrough in 2010 when she took down the EPT San Remo Main Event, winning $1.69 Million Including that monster score, Boeree has won over $2.1 Million in live poker tournaments.

Vanessa Selbst

Vanessa Selbst has easily been the most dominant female player in poker since 2006.  Already having three WSOP final table appearances under her belt , Selbst became the first woman in history to win a WSOP Omaha bracelet after taking down the $1,500 PL Omaha Event n 2008.

Just two years later, Selbst had easily the most dominant year in the history of poker for a female.  She won the NAPT Main Event at Mohegan Sun in April 2010 for $750,000.  After finishing in the money in the WSOP Main Event that year, she went on to take down the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event in Cannes France in September.  That win was good for $1.8 Million more.

Selbst continued to prove her dominance in 2011 when she repeated as champion at the NAPT Mohegan Sun, good for another $450,000.  To cap off 2011, she finished 3rd in the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, good for $338,000.  Tack on a first place finish earlier this year in a LA Poker Classic preliminary event for $140,000, and Selbst currently has over $4.9 Million in tournament winnings.
