May Mega Mayhem: Prototype
…turned my attention to the hunters which look very similar to Nemesis from Resident Evil. I used a wicked sword-arm to cut them to pieces and demolish them. Then it was tanks and helicopters. I picked up a tank and exploded a helicopter with it. I continued this for the rest of my 31 minutes and had a hella good time. Fun Rating: 4 Shape Shifting Doo-Doo Heads Wearing Too Much Eye Liner, out of 5! This is the Action Flick Chick, and you’ve just be… Continue reading

The Princess (2022): No Distressed Damsels Here
…ind. There’s a Princess (Joey King) who refuses an arranged marriage to an evil man (Dominic Cooper), so that evil man and his baddies take The King’s (Ed Stoppard) castle and The Princess hostage, and she must fight her way out to save her family. The Princess works despite its barely-there plot thanks to its awesome action sequences and clever trope subversions. This film isn’t trying to win any Academy awards for storytelling, and that’s fine w… Continue reading

Interview pt. 1: Shelf Life’s Tara Platt & Yuri Lowenthal
…r a superhero, because, you know, when Superman tends to grow scruff, he’s evil or he’s really dark and depressed and broody. Y– Yeah, the goatee version is always the evil version. T– Yeah, that’s why we tried to make a joke of it, about it being his Shadow Zone, or his five o’clock Shadow Zone look, because otherwise, we couldn’t have shot with Travis and the show would not have been able to go on. How did Bear and Brendan McCreary end up being… Continue reading

James Marsters Q&A at Wizard World Philadelphia
…have to pretend I don’t know all that stuff. I never told Joss.” Is Spike evil? Joss wanted to kill Spike from the very beginning. Joss backed James up against a wall and said, “I don’t care how popular you are, you are dead, you are dead, dead, dead!” James explained to the audience his thoughts on Spike: “As long as he doesn’t kill me, I’m just going to play this like a person. By the end of it, he [Joss] started to come over to my side and saw… Continue reading
Interview: Cinemax’s Femme Fatales Madison Dylan and Shani Pride
…racters that are multi-layered, extremely empowered, and some of them have evil streaks in the characters… For me, I look for and gravitate to, roles that are interesting and have depth. Like this Femme Fatales role- it was the first time that I did play someone who was so devious, and so conniving, and so manipulative and I found that very exciting. Because men play those roles all time, they have evil streaks or are controlling, where woman are… Continue reading
