Interview with “CreatureBoy” Brian Steele!
…the lovable Harry from Harry and the Hendersons. So I was thrilled when I saw that he had a booth at Wizard World Austin and was willing to take some time to talk to me. AFC: You’ve played many creatures, critters, and monsters. What attracts you to these sort of roles? Steele: I’m drawn to these roles because of the challenge of bringing them to life. Being able to work with the talented artist that dream these characters up, design and then fab… Continue reading

Interview: Moon Bloodgood (TNT’s Falling Skies, Terminator: Salvation)
…: Yeah, we did the video game. I think I had a doll at some point, I never saw it. That was cool. That was a real interesting thing to do.” JP: In video games, you also did work on Darksiders. Moon Bloodgood: Yeah, I never got to hear Darksiders. That was really fun to do something like that, because I really like video games. I don’t allow myself to play them because I feel a little guilty, like I’m wasting time, but I do love Call of Duty and th… Continue reading

Priest (2011): Repent Least You Be Eaten by a Vampire!
…niece. If you couldn’t tell by the rant at the beginning of the article, I saw Priest in 3D only because the theater wasn’t showing it in 2D. Overall, I’m not impressed by 3D so I would say save your money if you can. I believe it was a post conversion, and while the 3D didn’t suck horribly, it didn’t add enough to warrant me paying extra for it. Hey, if you love 3D though, go for it. Priest was a very average, run of the mill action adventure fil… Continue reading

Texas Frightmare Weekend: Acting Tips with James Hampton!
…himself out there and really concentrate on an acting career was a post he saw that read, “Ships are safest in port, but that’s not what ships are for.” Seeing that boosted his courage and got him where he is today. James and Mary Hampton Another piece of advice that James and Mary shared was to surround yourself with like minded people. Making friends with people who are also interested in acting, etc can build a mutual beneficial relationship. Y… Continue reading
Thor (2011): Will You Be Thunderstruck?
…superhero film. Thor was fun and energetic with great looking effects. (I saw it in 2D, and didn’t feel like I missed out. Save your two extra bucks.) In addition to the effects, there were great looking sets and incredible costume designs. You can really understand where the production budget went in this film. The story didn’t have any revelations or mind blowing twists, but it was a solid piece of art. If you’ve never heard of Chris Hemsworth… Continue reading

Rainn Wilson, James Gunn, and Ellen Page Talk Super at SXSW!
…him up on stage. Gunn asked him if Super was the most graphic film he ever saw, and the kid replied, “Well, I’ve seen Step Brothers.” After much laughing and joking, Wilson and Gunn came to the conclusion that the tag line on all the Super posters was going to be “A Bloodier Step Brothers!” Page remained fairly quite throughout the whole Q & A, while Wilson and Gunn jabbered on. You can read my review of Super to see if it’s a film for you. It hit… Continue reading

Coming Attraction: Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2011)
…oup of young attractive people while on vacation in a cabin in the woods. A funny spin on the usual horror film, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil stars two of my favorite guys Tyler Labine (Reaper) and Alan Tudyk (who fought Reavers in Firefly and Serenity)! As soon as I saw the trailer for this, I was like “You had me at Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk. Anyways,Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, which looks like it’ll be a funny and original flick, will have a limited re… Continue reading
