The Walking Dead 3-5: Weirdbury, Population Andrea
…anything left of T-dog, there was nothing left of Lori, and Carol is still missing. So brutal! Back to Red Rick, he has a good old fashioned sit-down against a wall, still dazed, and hears a phone ringing. A phone? Yeah, a phone. Rick answers with a raspy “Hello?” and the episode fades to black. Likes: Michonne’s sword practice on the zombie horde. M’s zombie curb stomp Daryl’s greeting to a possum: “Hello, dinner.” Michonne having enough sense to… Continue reading

NYCC 2012: Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (2012)- All Monsters, No Mash
…ent Hill since the events of hte first movie, but, when daddy Boromir goes missing, it looks like Heather’s coming back home to Hilly Dearest. Aesthetically, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is stunning. The monsters, created mostly through practical effects, but with a few CG, and the town of Silent Hill itself were all lush with terrifying details. And, for once, I actually wasn’t annoyed with the 3D— it looked great, and was used appropriately, resul… Continue reading
The Walking Dead 3-2: Big Boy Pants for Everyone!
…e Carl’s earned his big boy pants, too. With Hershel under the weather and missing a leg, Carol realizes it’s up to her to deliver Lori’s baby and decides she needs to practice c-sections on the walkers first, so that, when the time comes for Lori to have her baby, she’ll have some practice. While Carol wrestles with her yucky practice surgery, an unseen voyeur watches her from the woods. Inside, Maggie gives Hershel a tearful goodbye, and he dies… Continue reading

…nwhile in the land of the mobsters, their tech guy tracks the GPS of their missing mobster boy and find out he’s dead at the bottom of the sea. As the mobsters go check out the marina, Louis happens to be there trying to sink Dexter’s boat. The mobsters harass him, he spills some info on Dexter, and they kill him. Wonderful. After wasting half a freaking season on building up Louis, he gets offed by some mobsters, almost as an afterthought. Deb tr… Continue reading

Looper (2012): You’ll Want to Stay in the Loop on this One!
…can’t keep up. It’s a brilliant, original film, which is something sorely missing from Hollywood these days, and I highly recommend it. Action Rating: 2 Blunderbusses out of 5. SPOILERS BELOW! Best Kill: A fellow from the future has escaped from being executed by his younger, looper self, and is on the run. The baddies get a hold of the younger self and begin cutting into him, tearing him apart surgically, piece by piece, but still keeping him al… Continue reading
Dexter S7E2 “Sunshine and Frosty Swirl” Recap: Debra’s Shining Moment of Clarity!
…the mob. One of the head mobsters notifies the club manager that Victor is missing, then kills the bouncer who gave up Viktor’s name to the police. Boooooo. #nobodycares LaGuerta, another one of Miami Metro’s finest f***ups, breaks a ton of police protocols and sneaks off to test Travis Marshall’s blood slide, then gets all the evidence from the Bay Harbor Butcher case. Also, there’s a dumb subplot with a prison inmate, and it really doesn’t go an… Continue reading
