Summer Movies 2024: What Are We Looking Forward To (and NOT Looking Forward To)? You Weigh In!
…seriously. @Jacksweeney000 Nah, this look bad. Making Dalton a famous UFC fighter is awkward. In the first one, he’s a drifter with a mysterious past. That helps the suspension of disbelief. But making the setting the Florida Keys rather than the middle of nowhere Missouri is an even more awkward choice. @THGBagley No I’m with you on this one. The trailer didn’t grab me _______________________________________________________ Looks like P-Swayze… Continue reading

The Princess (2022): No Distressed Damsels Here
…rincess’s show for sure. I appreciate that the Princess isn’t a “graceful” fighter in the purest sense. She. Fights. Dirty. She does whatever it takes to win. She’ll roll in the mud, fall in the dust, and grunts and screams her way through every fight until she’s blood-soaked and worn out. Like a brutal disciple of Jackie Chan, she uses everything around her as a weapon: the ribbons on her dress, the vase on the table, and a rack of ribs in the ki… Continue reading

Man of Steel: Cold Steel
…njoyable flick worthy of anyone’s time. Best Kill: Faora jumps on top of a fighter plane high in the air. She rips off the top of the jet when the camera switches to someone else’s point of view. From a distance you see her going for the pilot’s head and then a huge blood cloud come flying out. Gah! This is one time where you don’t need to see an up close shot of what’s going on. That blood cloud says it all! Action Rating: 3 Men of Steel out of 5… Continue reading
The Walking Dead 3-10: Pardon the Interruption
…zombies at the end. That Merle, all he’s interested in is fighting. He’s like a mean-ass junkyard dog. Michonne slicing and dicing some walkers. The gang coming back together at the end. Dislikes: I like fighter/survivalist Glenn, but not mean, bordering on losing his crap Glenn. This is the Action Flick Chick, and you’ve just been kicked in the ass! (Dale’s Deeds by Alex Langley) … Continue reading

Paranormal Activity 2 (2010): Did You See That?
…est explosion wrapped into one. In the end of the film, Arnold is flying a fighter plane and the bad guy had fallen onto the missile and gets stuck on it. Arnold says, “You’re fired” and shoots the missile with the terrorist on it…Wait! Crap! I did it again! PA2 was so light on the action I started daydreaming about True Lies. There weren’t any explosions in PA2. BOO! Action Rating: ½ Dog and Ladybug Pool Cleaner Demon Investigation Teams, out of… Continue reading

Dredd (2012): You Don’t Have to Dread Seeing Dredd!
…nly thing I was a little disappointed with was that Ma-Ma wasn’t much of a fighter, nor did she seem particularly bright. She was instead content to send her men to do all the dirty work and relied on her poor toady to come up with ideas to keep the reinforcement Judges off their case. She eventually locks herself in a safe room, and in the film’s climax, makes a very poor attempt to negotiate with Dredd and doesn’t fight him at all. I wanted to s… Continue reading
