RED (2010)
…“I miss all of this. I haven’t killed anyone in years.” Best Kill: Frank (Bruce Willis) and Marvin (John Malkovich) are being attacked by some baddies. Frank casually grabs a grenade launcher, turns and arches the grenade perfectly towards the baddie. It hits, exploding the baddie into several different pieces. You can see half of the baddie go one way, and the other half fly off in the opposite direction. Best Explosion: Marvin (Malkovich) and a… Continue reading

Looper (2012): You’ll Want to Stay in the Loop on this One!
…n’t words to describe just how well Joseph-Gordon Levitt portrayed a young Bruce Willis. Everything, from his expression to the subtle rasp of his voice, was pitch perfect. And speaking of Mr. McClane, this film is Bruce Willis doing some of his best work, with a nuanced, emotive performance that reminds you how, underneath his charisma and sarcastic sense of humor, the man’s got some serious acting chops. Co-stars Jeff Daniels and Emily Blunt als… Continue reading
Luke, Leia, and Han Return, Bruce Lee Butt-beating Biopic, and Van Helsing Reboot?
…ave teamed up to pen Birth of a Dragon, a biopic about the Dragon himself, Bruce Lee. It’ll veer more into what they describe as “biographical fan fiction” than aim for historical accuracy, however. Like the Donnie Yen’s excellent Ip Man, this film will take some of the basic structure of Lee’s life and enhance it for extra ass-kicking flavor. And, despite the massively over-blown and over-budgeted failure that was the original Van Helsing, Univer… Continue reading

Die Hard (1988)
…eries. In this first one he’s young, very fit, and still has lots of hair. Bruce Willis with hair? Who knew? Even though this was made in the late 80’s and is the first in the series, it is jammed full of action and gore. McClane also has a sense of humor which keeps you laughing throughout the movie. One plus for you Family Matters fans, I know you’re out there, is that the guy that played Carl Winslow is one of the cops. This is the first of at… Continue reading

Coming Attraction: G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation (2012)!
…an ACTION film!!! And he’s starring with Bruce Willis! He’s starring with Bruce Willis! I’m a little excited about G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation, in case you can’t tell. I was a fan of the first one, seeing as it had some great action despite some other… issues it may have had. Now, Dwayne Johnson, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, and Channing Tatum are teaming up to save the world from Zartan (Arnold Vosloo). It hits theaters June 29, 2012! This is the Act… Continue reading
