Spoiler Free: Super (2011)
…p you entertained. Super is not the ordinary superhero film and really it was quite weird, but in a good way for the geeks and nerds out there. It’s similar to Kick Ass, only for grown ups, focusing on older characters with grown up problems. I loved it. Super comes out in theaters April 1, 2011. And now, I’ll leave you with a quote from Crimson Bolt: Shut up, Crime! Action Rating: 2 Blood Splattered Wrenches, out of 5. Illustration by Alex Langle… Continue reading

District 9 (2009) Spoiler Free!
…en ship gets stuck right over Johannesburg, South Africa, and when nothing comes out of it, the humans do what they do best and go busting their way up in their ship. They find a crap load of aliens who are all suffering from malnutrition and sickness. So then the humans do what they do best and keep them on earth in crappy government housing turned into a slum and then discriminate against them. Makes me proud to be human. The best part about thi… Continue reading

Spoiler Free! Scream 4 (2011): Another Tiresome Reboot?
…bsequently getting killed. Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale Weathers-Riley (Courteney Cox) also return to help Sid figure out who the killer is. Who will survive this time around? No one’s safe, not even you, SIDNEY! In a nutshell, there are some definite problems with the film, and it’s so formulaic you can predict who’s going to die next, but I still enjoyed it. Scream 4 was still fun and gory, and even provided a few startles here and th… Continue reading

Interview pt. 1: Shelf Life’s Tara Platt & Yuri Lowenthal
…ah, but I’m not going to fight them on that. Yeah, I think people who love comic-booky type stuff, or action figures, or who always wished Toy Story were a little dirtier (laughs), and who once again, don’t necessarily want to tune into a twenty-two minute show, or who only have a few minutes here and there, because I think the attention span is still quite short on the web. It’s changing, slowly, but I think in general, even for myself, like on a… Continue reading

She shoots at Peter, but of course, he stops time, dodges the bullet and then teleports back to the present day to stop the reason why the world found out about their powers. If you recall, Nathan Petrelli at the end of the second season was about to tell the world about his powers and out everyone else, but he suddenly gets shot. Well, twist number one, it was Peter… Continue reading

Falling Skies Season 2 Episode 3 Review!
…sode three, “Compass.” Properly named, this episode has a lot to do with a compass; not their most exciting episode, granted, but there was a bit of plot progression. The 2nd Mass. now has a new focus of moving to Charleston where they hope to find other survivors. They started season one with 300 people and at the end of this current episode they count up only 176. Their numbers are dwindling faster than a pile of sugar free cupcakes at a diabete… Continue reading
