The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (BDSII) is hella good! Go see it! The End.
Just kidding. I’ve got plenty more to say. BDSII starts with the killing of a Boston priest. Uh-oh, nobody goes around slaying priests in the Saints’ town! This causes the MacManus brothers (Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus) to come out of hiding to take care of some baddie business. Along the way, they pick up a hilarious new sidekick, Romeo (Clifton Collins, Jr), who packs some fantastically funny lies, not to mention a set of custom Mexican handguns that have to be seen to be believed. Meanwhile, the new FBI agent in charge of the MacManus crime scenes, is the gorgeous, smart, Special Agent Eunice Bloom (Julie Benz). She is everything Benz and Collins described when we interviewed – a kick ass, intelligent female character that does not turn out to be there just to be a love interest or victim. I absolutely loved Julie Benz and her character in this flick. When she makes her intro she gets some snide remarks from some of the boys but she holds her ground. I particularly liked this line: “I am so f***ing smart, I make smart people look like they are retarded.” Strap on your cups, boys, she means business! She is a southern lady equipped with a questionable southern accent, but I’m willing to ignore it because of her level of bad-assitude.
BDSII is really good. It is a lot like the first one as far as the action goes. You see the results of the action before you actually see how it all went down. It is hard for me to rate the action in The Boondock Saints because the major action scenes are in slow motion and they always have really calming music playing over them. So, even though 10 guys are getting their asses handed to them, you feel soothed and happy because of the music. It’s different, and I like it. It was a little slow starting out, but it does pick up.
The hilariousness of this flick has definitely kicked up as compared to the first one. Seriously, I’m going to have to watch it again because I missed a lot of dialogue because of everyone laughing hysterically at some parts. I was definitely laughing, but I think the premiere atmosphere made a lot of people go a little overboard, making me want to go a little overboard and yell SHUT THE F…well, that’s not important. What is important is that BDSII was a great sequel. It was much funnier than the first one, the action stayed true to the original format with some extra awesomeness, and the new characters definitely kicked ass. There were several references to the first movie that make you laugh. Overall, I was very pleased with how it turned out. If you are a Boondock fan, go see it.
Baddies: Every single person who has committed even a remotely bad crime. Watch out, the MacManus brothers have their little red target dot looking right at your balls!
Best Line: “Who ordered the whoop ass fajitas!?!”
Best Kill: The MacManus brothers are wondering around an abandoned house when they hear two baddies talking on the other side of the wall. They get into position and at the perfect, most critical time, they shoot through the wall, nailing those baddies. Is it a sign that you are a huge bad ass if you can shoot through a wall and kill someone without actually being able to see them? I think so!
Action Rating: 3 Sweet sets of Mexi-Weapons, out of 5.

So is Clifton Collins Jr. up to replacing David Della Rocco as David Della Rocco? No small order. I’m glad it was hilarious, that was one of the first film’s greatest strengths and what set it apart from other similar action flicks.
Just stumbled on to this site…. Badass!
Oh yeah, It’s time to get Irish!
Did this movie actually come out? As in the theater and not straight to DVD, because if so, where is it and why aren’t there commercials?
JC: Yes, it has visited theaters. Very few commercials. Limited release but it’s still making the rounds. http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/boondocksaints2 and http://www.boondocksaints.com have more information.
