Hugh Hart of Wired.com interviews Action Flick Chick Katrina Hill about Wired’s choices for the “26 Most Awesome Female Ass-Kickers.”
From Wired:
Fierce female characters are gaining traction in the pop-culture landscape, but even in 2010, guys still outnumber women in starring roles for movies, TV, comics and videogames. Several Comic-Con International panels this weekend look at the phenomena of the geek girl.
Among the panels is Where Are the Action Chicks? (Friday, 2 p.m. Room 26AB). Blogger Katrina Hill from Action Chick Flick moderates the panel. She’s a Texas über-fan who champions an upbeat take on the growing presence of female characters and creators.
“Without a doubt there are more action-chick movie roles today than there were 20 years ago,” she says. “And its not just about film. TV shows, comic books, videogames — all these storytelling media are expanding to make way for action chicks.”
In an e-mail interview with Wired.com, Hill dissects the “female power landscape” with her breakdown of sci-fi’s most compelling female characters past, present and future. (continued at Wired…)

I wish they would hire Gail to write the Wonder Woman movie and get that dang thing going. It’s time but they are running scared right now.
Congrats on the Wired interview! Awesome.
