By special request, here’s every zombie movie ever made – in chronological order. Fast zombies, slow zombies, fat zombies, skinny zombies, even zombies with all kinds of pox…
Don’t yell at us about some of these entries. People fought this list out (not arranged in this order, though) on Wikipedia. Argue with them about I Am Legend…and 28 Days Later…and on and on and on. Why aren’t Idle Hands and House 2 on this list? Maybe oversight. Or maybe not every motion picture with a zombie in it counts as a zombie movie the same way that not every film with a cowboy counts as a cowboy movie.
Despite the hyperbole of the title, it’s just not every zombie movie ever made. For instance, indie films generally got left out, probably due to a perception of insufficient notability. There’s no Siege of the Dead (good movie) or Vampires Vs. Zombies (bad), although it does have Corpses Are Forever, a film worthy of Ed Wood himself. Short films, television series or episodes, and nonfiction documentaries are excluded altogether.
We are going to weed out some items that are just plain wrong. If there’s any room for argument (hello again I Am Legend), it stays. Period. This isn’t the place to hash that out. So, keeping that in mind, please point out any that are inarguably incorrect.
And then George Romero and company redefined zombies forever after…
Take these future films with a grain of salt. Almost every item on this list is linked to a source, so check out those sources to evaluate them for yourselves. Some of those 2010 and 2011 films include items that are simply “in development,” some of which have dwelled for years down in development hell – like George Romero’s Diamond Dead.
