Today the G4TV series Attack of the Show! airs its one thousandth episode.
Hosted by Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn, the show looks at popular culture, particularly anything technological or nerdy by nature from the Internet, movies, television, comic books, and more Internet, along with sex talk and silly stunts for the sake of sheer fun. Whether they’re rating new cameras, interviewing movie stars, discussing The Guild with Felicia Day, or just jumping into a giant pie, they manage to entertain us every day.
Attack of the Show! is the only series that every single person on our entire crew (all Rocket Llama Media Group writers, artists, and editors) regularly watch. When the Action Flick Chick mentioned that, a G4TV producer solicited our thoughts on the show, particularly what we would like to see more or less of, and believe me, we had plenty to say – from praising the top 5 Internet videos to recommending they kill Jimmy the Geek again and for good.
We can’t say strongly enough what great hosts Kevin and Olivia are. The show has its best on-air team right now, with enthusiastic contributions from Blair Butler, Alison Haislip, Chris Hardwick, and Chris Gore plus visits aplenty from X-Play personalities Adam Sessler, Morgan Webb, Blair Herter, and Kristen Adams. We’re not fans of their sexpert Anna David, though. Llama Mama calls the woman a “middle-aged slut” while our friend Stephen says that’s exactly what he likes about her.
In honor of AOTS‘s achievement, the Action Flick Chick interviewed stuntwoman Luci Romberg, whom G4TV and AOTS sent to Japan twice in the past year to compete in Ninja Warrior, the world’s toughest obstacle course program. Luci went further than any other woman both times. She is the only woman to have ever beaten the course’s Jumping Spider obstacle, although this last time she said her proudest moment was when Olivia Munn got past an obstacle which had taken Olivia out early the previous time.
Luci spent an hour talking with our Chick about Ninja Warrior, Attack of the Show!, college, stuntwork, and so much more. Luci has been one busy human! As a stuntwoman, she has worked on television series like True Blood and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and movies which include Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. She doubled for an actress in the upcoming motion picture Zombieland. If you watch for her, you may spot Luci in the film’s trailers.
The Chick will run that interview here soon, although first she needs to write up her previous interview with stuntwoman La Faye Baker. Don’t expect her to get any of that done this week, though, because she’s traveling right now. At the moment, she’s in New York. Between these stuntwomen and stuntman David Leitch, the Chick has found stunt professionals to be great people to talk with.
So if you’re not familiar with Attack of the Show!, familiarize yourself. We love the show, and if you’re an Action Flick Chick reader, we think you will too.
