Samaritan (2022): Good, But Not Great, Samaritan
…thusiasm and excitement. He holds his own against a cinematic veteran like Stallone, so I found even the predictable, non-actiony portions of the film still enjoyable. Stallone has a history of playing action heroes with unparalleled skills, but as Joe he’s playing someone whose sheer power is such that no one is a match for him. I’ll admit, it is satisfying sometimes to see Joe scoff at impending threats and swat away baddies like flies. When a… Continue reading
Stallone Chooses New Director for Expendables 3
…on Netflix. Then we’ll see if he gets the Action Chick stamp of approval. Stallone has proven to know what he’s doing in the past, so for now we’ll just have to trust that Hughes will do a great job or else Stallone wouldn’t have chosen him. It’s reported that Hughes will begin work on the film this week and production will begin mid-August. Will he be able to pull off a bigger and more epic installment of The Expendables? This is the Action Flic… Continue reading

Schwarzenegger and Stallone: Still Fierce Competitors or Friends?
I can’t freakin’ get enough of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone! I just love these two guys and almost all of their movies. When they first became action stars, there was quite the competitive feeling between the two. On Yahoo! Movies Stallone and Schwarzenegger both comment on their relationship today. Apparently, they’re on friendly terms now and respect each other, which is fine by me. I hope that leads to more of their teaming up… Continue reading

Review: Bullet to the Head
…t not excellent, action flick (It hurts me to say that about anything with Stallone in it). Stallone’s a hitman who teams up with a cop (Sung Kang) to solve the murders of their respective partners. Love the cast! Gigantic, “I’m so sexy” Jason Momoa, plus the awesome, I’ll never be able to pronounce his name correctly, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and a blast from the past, Christian Slater, are each great in their roles. Stallone and Kang’s buddy co… Continue reading
Stallone’s Forty Years of Action Awesomeness, TV Recaps, and More!
…hi.com. Here’s a highlights reel of this week’s articles so far: Sylvester Stallone has been in the action movie business for roughly forty-three years. He’s an action icon whose career has been a staple in propelling the action genre to its mainstream popularity. I will always be amazed that the man is still making movies in his late 60’s; and, not just easy “I’ll be sitting down in every scene” kind of movies. No, sir. He’s doing stunts, breakin… Continue reading
