John Wick 4: Can an Action Movie Ever Have Too Much Action?
…it’s all amazing. Taken all together, I kind of wanted to yell “END! END!” John Wick’s so good he can drive a car from the hood. John Wick: Chapter 4 is a great (supposed) final chapter for the character. The ending is clever and maintains John’s respect and dignity, and the story adds some additional depth to the character’s we’ve come to know over the course of this series (RIP Lance Reddick, a truly terrific actor) while also maintaining the fa… Continue reading

Best Example of James Bond Film as an Action Movie?
…le is the best. Of course, you don’t have an aging Bond in the new films 🙂 John C Davies @John_C_Davies: #agree RT @tara_oshea: @ActionChick @John_C_Davies I vote next gen. The parkour opening stunt sequence of Casino Royale was AMAZING. John C Davies @John_C_Davies: @tara_oshea @ActionChick I particularly liked the un edited long shot of jumping from one construction crane to another. #Epic John C Davies @John_C_Davies: classic or next generation… Continue reading

Die Hard 2: Die Harder (1990)
…ave taken over something. Pop the popcorn and bring out the sleeping bags, John McClane doesn’t disappoint. In the second installment of the Die Hard movies, McClane saves the day by running around an airport killing the bad guys who have shut down the computers making it so that all the planes can’t land. There are a few exciting guest appearances in this movie, one of them being Carl Winslow, as mentioned before in my Die Hard review. This time… Continue reading

John Wick (2014): Don’t Eff With a Hitman’s Dog
…Also special props to the fight between Ms. Perkins (Adrianne Palicki) and John. While John Wick does have about 99% male characters (would it hurt them to include a few more non-dudes in there?), Ms. Perkins gets a great fight scene with John in which they go all out beating the crap out of each other. If you haven’t seen John Wick, you must make it your choice for your next movie night. This modern classic does it all just right- action, charact… Continue reading
Commando (1985) Review: Arnold Schwarzenegger in Top Form for this Action Classic
…: John Spartan (Demolition Man), Detective John Kimble (Kindergarten Cop), John McClane (Die Hard), John Rambo (Rambo), John Connor (Terminator), and John Matrix (Commando). …Now, granted, Kimble from Kindergarten Cop isn’t really an action hero, but he does get into some action in that movie and he’s played by Ahnold himself. My deepest sympathies to everyone out there whose name isn’t John because it looks like your chances of becoming an action… Continue reading

Die Hard (1988)
…good old days. Back to the movie, terrorists take over a sky scraper with John McClane in it, mistake number one. They stood a better chance at taking over Fort Knox than a building with McClane in it. McClane single-handedly killed all of the terrorists except two. He is one good kicker of assess. Anyway, the movie is set on Christmas Eve making this a warm fuzzy x-mas movie for all. There are explosions, blood, guts, and brain. Who could ask fo… Continue reading
