May Mega Mayhem: Portal!

Day #23: Portal!

General Thoughts: This is a very mellow game, folks. You just go through solving puzzles by using portals. No fighting, no anxiety, no nothing. Just pure exercise for the mind. The game definitely doles out the fun if you’re into puzzling action. If you don’t then this would be extremely boring for you. I, personally, like it. It’s a nice change of pace from the games I’m used to playing and it’s very noob friendly since there’s no pressure to react instantly to anything. If you’ve never worked with portals before, it takes you some time to get used to how things work. You kind of have to think out side the box, and start thinking with portals!

31 Minutes of Play: I solved puzzles. I don’t know what else to say except that. I shot portals on the walls and ceilings to transfer blocks to and from rooms so that I could place them on a platform that would open my exit door. Then I rode on the elevator to my next brain teaser.

Fun Rating: 3 ½ Companion Cubes, out of 5!

I can’t tell from your post whether you’ve ever finished the game or only played 31 minutes of it. But in case it’s the latter, I’ll mention that it gets a little different in the last (19th) chamber. It’s still pretty mellow compared to most games–it only ever makes you hurry maybe twice–but it’s not quite so carefree as the early tests.
