Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema. Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine organizes a group of Jewish American soldiers to perform swift, shocking acts of retribution. Later known to their enemy as “the basterds,” Raine’s squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget von Hammersmark on a mission to take down the leaders of the Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquis, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own. (The Weinstein Company)

by Action Flick Chick: “Nein, Nein, Nein! Quit the yackin’ and get to the action! Uggg. For a movie about Nazis and WWII, Inglourious Basterds sure didn’t have much action going on. There was an interesting story though…”

by Nicola-T: “None of this tells you about the film though and to be honest I think you’re better off not know much about it. It’s a lot more interesting plotwise than I thought it would be. I guess I’d forgotten that behind all the talking and all the style, QT always holds his films up with a strong plot.”

by Film Gurl: “To my surprise, this turned out to be more than a “shoot em up” and kill them type movie. Sure, there were those parts (very bloody and violent) but it wasn’t the entire movie.”

by A. Jane: “This is probably my favorite Tarantino film and thats saying something since I absolutely loved the Kill Bill films and was impressed with his production work with GrindHouse. And the soundtrack for this movie isn’t bad either.”

by Kat (different Kat, not Katrina Hill): “Although I’m a fan of Quentin Tarantino’s, I’m sad to say I did not enjoy this film. With a running time of over two hours, the film felt long and dragged out to me.”

by Heather: “Inglourious Basterds was a pure and simple masterpiece.  To me it isn’t even debatable that this has been the best movie I have seen in 2009, and even more so probably my second favorite film ever made by Quentin Tarantino.”

by Caitlin: “It is not perfect, but it is one of Tarantino’s better films.  The end in particular deals a lot in irony, but it is World War II set in an area of the world — cinema — that Tarantino can relate and tell a story through best.”
