Ever consider what Hansel and Gretel would be like if they were all grown up? In the world of Hollywood, they grew up to become witch hunters thanks to the childhood trauma that involved slaying a cannibalistic witch. Now the siblings have a taste for evil witches’ blood and 15 years after that first event, they become witch bounty hunters. Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters will star the newest action buff Jeremy Renner and Prince of Persia’s Gemma Arterton. Originally, the film was scheduled to be released back in March, but was postponed until January 11, 2013 to avoid being overshadowed by The Hunger Games and to also cash in on the new fame of Jeremy Renner after The Avengers. Not a bad idea if that’s really why they postponed the film. It’s been reported that two versions of the film are being screened, a PG-13 and R version. You should know Action Chick’s vote- definitely go with R. With an R rating, I will be in line for Hansel and Gretel without a doubt.
This is the Action Flick Chick, and you’ve just been kicked in the ass!

Yes, please!
Although, and not for any moralistic reasons, I always prefer a PG-13 rating. I am raw-ther squeamish and like to think I shall be spared too much gore if I get the Disneyfied version 😀 This is the sole reason I couldn’t get into the Ginger Snaps franchise; although the set design and wardrobe were wondrous! Of course, I’m generally happy with anything set in a half-timbered village of a vaguely Teutonic, medieval setting wherein all residents are in corsetry, poet blouses and hippie boots.
Cheers!
Ah, the onslaught of public domain character action films continues. Coming soon: Butcher, Baker and The Candlestick Maker – Three the Hard Way.
