Fall 2011 Television Lineup! What are you Looking Forward to?

The fall season will be upon us shortly and that means the television networks will also be airing their new shows! You can expect to see some favorites from Lost and Buffy herself (Sarah Michelle Gellar) this time. There are also a number of shows featuring women as the main characters, some of which are stirring up quite the controversy with women’s right activists. The controversy particularly surrounds the new show by NBC called The Playboy Club. Lots of women are dressed in the skimpy Playboy Bunny outfits in this drama set at the Chicago Playboy Club in 1963. The ongoing debate as to whether a specific outfit is empowering or demeaning to women continues over the roles of the Playboy Bunnies in this television show. We’ll just have to wait and see if this controversy affects how long the show will last.

Buffy fans get ready because the CW will be hosting a new drama called Ringer, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as twins. One sister disappears, so the other one takes her place to try to get away from the mob. She soon finds out that the disappeared sister’s life is not as easy as it seemed. Ringer premieres Tuesday, September 13 at 9/8c.

It looks like Fox will have a couple of shows of interest this fall, one of those being Terra Nova. Produced by Steven Spielberg, Jason O’Mara and Stephen Lang star in this adventure story that will take you to prehistoric Earth for a fresh start. Just make sure you don’t get eaten by the dinosaurs! A family is sent back in time to try to set right the overcrowded, overdeveloped Earth that is the future. Terra Nova premieres Monday, September 26 at 8/7c.

Fox will also be airing Alcatraz from producer J.J. Abrams (Lost). A large number of prisoners disappeared from the Alcatraz prison some 50 years ago and have suddenly reappeared. Follow Jorge Garcia (Lost) and Sarah Jones as they investigate what’s happening. Looks like poor Hurley got himself off of one island and right back onto another. See it starting Wednesday, September 21 at 8/7c. And see both of these Fox shows probably get taken off the air as soon as they get really good, because if there’s one group Fox loves to torture, it’s us nerds!

Speaking of Lost and J.J. Abrams, CBS will be airing Person of Interest this fall which is based on a screenplay by J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Nolan, and stars Lost’s Michael Emerson and Jim Caviziel. The duo team up to solve crimes before they happen using a mysterious computer program. Person of Interest premiers Thursday, September 22 at 9/8c.

Another highly anticipated fall series is Charlie’s Angels (ABC). A reboot of the 1976 series, Minka Kelly, Annie Ngasi Ilonzeh, and Rachael Taylor bring to life the kick ass crime fighter women. They make kicking ass in high heels look easy starting Thursday, September 22 at 8/7c.

This list is just a sampling of the new shows starting this fall so set your DVRs and snuggle into your favorite seat, because it’s time to watch some TV!

This is the Action Flick Chick, and you’ve just been kicked in the ass!

Ok, let me first voice my disappointment that Fox canceled Human Target … I loved that show, great action … I am looking forward to Person Of Interest, Unforgettable, and Prime Suspect …
