Coming Attraction: Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2011)

I think we’ve all seen several films about crazy rednecks in the woods trying to kill off a group of attractive people. So it really shouldn’t be a surprise that country boys Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) are mistaken for killers by a group of young attractive people while on vacation in a cabin in the woods. A funny spin on the usual horror film, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil stars two of my favorite guys Tyler Labine (Reaper) and Alan Tudyk (who fought Reavers in Firefly and Serenity)! As soon as I saw the trailer for this, I was like “You had me at Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk. Anyways,Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, which looks like it’ll be a funny and original flick, will have a limited release in theaters September 30, 2011!

  2. I rented the pre-theatrical release of Tucker & Dale a couple weeks ago and loved it. It plays with just about every cliche of the ‘killer in the woods’ movies, brilliantly turns them all on their heads and it has all of the violence and gore that you would expect from the genre. Some of the gags were a little predictable and Alan Tudyk’s accent was a bit variable, but overall it was hilarious.

I saw the trailer a few months ago and was quite excited as I got to to see an early version of the film. The idea behind the film in brillant but where I found the trailer kinda off fast and exciting the movie kind of plodded along for me. Maybe these issues have been addressed and the final editing has been sorted now. I really hope you still go out and see it and really enjoy this good film,
