Summer movies, as of late, have been lacking a bit in the originality department. Sometimes we get Iron Man 3, which may be a sequel/based on a comic book, but it’s a great story and a great movie, so that’s fine. Other times we get The Lone Ranger, which is a butt, overly-long movie based on an old-ass character. Every once in a while, if we’re good boys and girls, we’ll get something that looks awesome and is completely original. That movie, dear readers, is Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim. The story? People in giant robots duke it out with giant monsters. Get ready for a power trip. Pacific Rim cracks open theaters 7/12/13
