Action Flick Chick: Which ACTRESS is THE best at playing ass kicking heroines?
There’s no “right” answer, but there are answers that don’t fit the question (like the fact that the question says “heroines” plural). One random respondent received a cool Haywire prize pack. More information on that will follow.
Answers on Facebook
Evan Young: Angelina Jolie
Helen Gynell: Milla Jovovich (despite the slender build), but for sheer strength I want to see more of Gina Carano! Finally, someone who makesl the male stars look like they’re out of their league . . .
Aaron Pynn: Cynthia Rothrock of course!
Andrew McMahon: Linda Hamilton, to me, nothing beats her performance in T2. She’s bad ass all the way through.
Bebarce El-Tayib: Hands down. Natalie Portman.
Brian Kazmarck: Sigourney Weaver, Linda Hamilton, and Angelina Jolie in equal doses. Zoe Saldana and Milla Jovovich are close behind.
Carlos Carmona: Michelle Rodriguez
Carrie Bland Sigourney Weaver
Charissa Gilmore Duff: Everyone forgets Geena Davis. Long Kiss Goodnight & her work in Gender Equality in film makes her a kick ass heroine & true She-Ro!
Charissa Gilmore Duff: I forgot to mention the campy Cutthroat Island.
Chris George: Kate Beckinsale
Chris Glasgow: Helen Mirren.
Chris La Tray: As an actress, Sigourney gets my vote. But for all of her kickass work between the scenes, and with only a couple limited appearances in front of the camera that kick ass, it’s all about ZOE BELL for me. Aye carumba.
Clara Mathews: Michelle Yeoh!
Crissie McBride uma 🙂
Dave Thomas: Zoe Bell
David Frederick: Christina Hendricks
DuJuan Scott: Michelle Yeoh.
Harold Burman: Kate Beckinsale
Huy Nguyen: Betty White
Jared Spangler Maggie Q
Jennifer K. Stuller: Pam Grier
John Bee: uma!
John DuMond: Sigourney Weaver
John Knutson: angelina
John Miller: Milla jahovavich
John Nacinovich: Sigourney Weaver
John White: I’d have to vote Angelina…
Joseph Williams: obviously the only correct answer is Angela Lansbury. i mean she survived freakin’ Nazi’s AND cartoon fish in Bedknobs and Broomsticks… AND she was Murder She Wrote.
Kimmie Britt: Summer Glau
Kristine Hassell: Sarah. Conner. PS. C’mon… one hand manipulation of that shotgun is badass.
Kurt Christenson: Geena Davis. (Long Kiss Goodnight)
Lyndzie Parker: Sigourney Weaver, hands down.
Mark Tickler Maureen O’ Hara.
Matthew Spradlin: There are only 3 believable ass kickers: Sigourney, Linda H., and Milla. Chloe is the real-deal. And Yak-faced Boogey woman, Cynthia Rothrock really is an ass kicker as well. But…
Michael Overton: Michelle Yeoh by a mile
Missy Quarry: Linda Hamilton.
Ricardo Recio: Paul walker
Sarah SarcasmSpasm Barbour: Sarah Michelle Gellar. 😀
Scott Schultz: This is a tough one. While Ripley is one of the baddest badasses to grace the screen, regardless of gender, and Selene (Underworld) is not very far behind, I think that the proper answer to this question requires that the actress has portrayed several different characters. With that criteria in mind, I’d have to give the nod to Angelina Jolie, for Salt, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Tomb Raider and its sequels, and probably others that I’m not thinking of at the moment. If question was more about a single portrayal, then Sigourney Weaver would win it, hands down.
Shawn Forth: Milla Jovovich
Stephanie Marie: angelina jolie
Tonie Miller: Auer Summer Glau.
Travis Surber: Summer Glau
Veronica Dorkmaster: Lucy Lawless
Victor Medina: No contest: Jennifer Garner. Nobody beats Sydney Bristow.
Wendy Harrington: Jennifer Garner! Know-it-all me might also point out that while lots of these ladies are fabulous, they have had only one kick ass role. The question is “heroines”, plural.
Wernher Von Braun: Loves me some Linda Hamilton… but Lucy Lawless does an ok job too
Will Childs: Cynthia Rothrock!
The hundreds of answers from Twitter have to wait a day or two. They require a lot more editing, and Katrina has a book deadline this week.
Hard to choose but by number of movies ,shows I loved them in Milla Jovovich, Kate Beckinsale and Summer Glau
