May Mega Mayhem: Left 4 Dead 2

You might be wondering, “What’s this chick up to?” Well, folks, in the month of May I’m going to play one game a day, every day, for at least 31 minutes. To commemorate this month of MAY MEGA MAYHEM I’ll be playing a different game every day for 31 days straight.  31 games in 31 days. Why? Because I want to! This will help broaden my knowledge of video games and can help all the noobs out there as well. Also, I would love your stories, advice, and comments about what you like/don’t like about each game. Don’t worry, you will still get all of your movie news, reviews, and whatnot’s I usually post. This is just an added bonus, since you’ve all been behaving so nicely.

Day #1: I am starting with one of my favorite video games, Left 4 Dead 2 for the X-Box. Obviously, I have played this one for more than 30 minutes. It’s just too much fun to stop.

General thoughts: L4D2 is a multiplayer zombie killing game. Yeah! It has four main characters. I usually play as Ellis, the southern red neck that tells elaborate stories about him and his lunatic friend Keith. With this game you get several different modes of play, several different character options, and a ton of different ways to kill zombies! You can play with friends online or against them. Or forget your friends all together and just play with computers on your team. Either way, it’s a load of fun.

31 Minutes of Play: So what did I do with my 31 minutes? I played Survival mode with 3 other friends of mine. For those of you who don’t know, Survival mode is where you and your team try to survive for as long as you can against a never ending attack from zombies. My best time was 5:30 for The Passing: Underground level. Yes, I know you’ve done much better than that. You can brag in the comment section. I did earn the achievement Til it Goes Click for killing at least 25 zombies with an M60 without ever taking my finger off the trigger. Apparently I’m a little trigger happy, who’da thunk it? You’d be trigger happy too if you saw how nice and juicy the zombies explode when you shoot them with an M60! It’s amazing. FYI: You get melee weapons as well. I love the katana and the axe the most. The more zombies you hack up, the more your screen is covered with blood! L4D2 is a fun game for noobs or veterans alike. I will definitely keep playing this game.

Tank!

Craziest moment while playing: A tank (big zombie monster) attacked my friends and me while we were in a two-way alley. While firing at the big sucker, some stray shots hit gas cans both in front of and behind the alley, turning the entire level into a giant, hellish inferno. We died, but so did that friggin’ tank. EAT THAT, CUPCAKE!

Fun Rating: 5 Decapitated Zombies, out of 5.

  2. I just played some L4D2, too. Great game for the zombie enthusiast. Played in Versus Mode and clawed our way to victory with a five point, come-from-behind win at the last minute. Good times!

    Good luck with your gaming!
