Women of the Web TV special:
Remaining airings: Sunday 10 p.m. or Monday 1 p.m., Central time zone.
Where: G4TV Channel 191 on Dish Network, 310 on DirecTV.

Probably not the last showing ever but it is the last chance to see the entire program for a while.

Last Wednesday, G4TV debuted its Women of the Web 2 special during which Attack of the Show! co-host Kevin Pereira announced that the winner of their first Next Woman of the Web contest was none other than our heroine, Action Flick Chick Katrina Hill herself.

In addition to presenting the Next Woman of the Web, Kevin looked at fifteen top Women of the Web, three each from five different categories. “Within this one episode we traveled to: Maui, Montreal, Florida, and the California desert,” producer Mike Bollow told Katrina. “There are a total of 22 different girls in our show from countries all over the world including Australia, Paraguay and even Pakistan. We did our best not to include recognizable faces in our show, only completely new women that most people have never heard of. Women of the Web 2 is a complete revamp from Women of the Web 1.  It’s also an hour instead of a half hour.”

Katrina has appreciated the outpouring of support from hundreds upon hundreds of you when encouraging her to enter the competition, voting for her, talking her up, expressing your hopes regarding the outcome, and congratulating her when you finally learned how it turned out. During her first interview after the special’s debut, Katrina stressed your importance. “Without you, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Along the way she enjoyed interacting with fellow entrants Suicide Girl Bob Suicide, burlesque dancer and cosplayer Lily Stitches, and gun-toting Baroness Laura Renee James. In the last few days she has also spoken with some of the other women who were featured on the show. FEARnet correspondent Audrey Cleo, adult model and comic book character Ariel Rebel, and Digitally Blonde gal Carol Zara have all shared their thoughts regarding which 2009 movies annoyed them most, so you’ll read their answers soon when the Action Flick Chick posts on that twitter topic.

After the Chick as @actionchick on twitter commented to others on how nice it was to be featured in the same program as Last Comic Standing champ Iliza Shlesinger, Iliza chimed in with a response:

@iliza: @Actionchick we are now best friends, didn’t know if you knew…

We’ve been huge fans of Iliza’s ever since we watched her tear through the final season of Last Comic Standing, defeating one competitor foolish enough to challenge her in head-to-head competition after another, utimately to become the Very Last Comic Standing since that was the series’ sixth and final season. Most of you know how highly we regard ass kicking women around here, so you know we were rooting for her from the get-go. Watching Iliza kick every single opponent’s ass just warmed our hearts. The artist who created Katrina’s cigar-chomping avatar, Nick of RocketLlama.com, has made it clear that he considers Iliza to be the perfect woman (“With her talent and looks, I’d say she’s one of the hottest people on the planet. So take that, Tyra Banks.”).

So if you haven’t tuned into G4TV to see the special yet, watch Katrina, Iliza, Carol, Ariel, Audrey, and all the other featured Women of the Web either tonight or tomorrow afternoon. You can also find individual women’s segments online at G4TV.com.

P.S. If you’re familiar with Iliza’s THE WEAKLY NEWS, you might vote for it as Best Comedy Web Series in the Streamy Awards at http://streamys.org or tweet votes for it to @StreamyAwards.

  2. ServiceGames says:

Just out of curiosity, did you pick the M16 or did they just not have any M4A1’s at the shoot? While the M16 is probably one of the most recognizable guns from older action flicks, they’ve been replaced mostly by the M4A1.

  3. Arol says:

But crucially, did you get to keep any of the weaponry?

  4. ServiceGames says:

Arol definitely asks the best question!

  5. Gave Lan and Vu Bui general guidelines on weapons. They found what they could find. Unfortunately, I did not keep the weapons (or the outfit). Or maybe fortunately – getting them home on the plane would have been awkward. 😉
