Independent Movie: Heist (2010)

If you want to watch a film filled with a butt load of guys hopped up on testosterone and pulling guns on each other every second, then Heist is the film for you! Heist is about Erik (Erik David) who owes a Columbian drug dealer half a million dollars. Erik’s friend didn’t have enough balls to stick around and help Erik pay off his half, so Erik’s brother, K (Rick Jordan), comes up with a plan to help him get the money to save his life. Aww, what a good big brother! So what do they do? They pull a heist in broad daylight! They get other guys to help for a cut of the money, but all they really help with is increasing the amount of blood shed and the body count.

Heist is high on the Action-o-meter; however, a lot of the action was a group of guys pulling guns on each other and threatening to blow each other away. It got tiring after a while. Just shoot ‘em or smooch ‘em already! And when I say a group of guys, I’m talking about a complete sausage fest. There was one female in the whole film with a small part. She did manage to kick some ass in that small part though, so major bonus points there.

As far as independent films go, this is one of the better and higher quality films I’ve seen. It was put together very well and pulled off a lot of action without a big budget.

Everyone put your big boy pants on if you want to go on a heist with the guys in this film. The characters are dirty, greedy, and wouldn’t blink an eye at killing their best friend. Make sure you have plenty of balls, and keep them well protected while keeping a wary eye on the guys that are supposed to be watching your back.
