The Clash of the Titans is another film about Greek mythology and another remake. I pretty recently watched another film based on Greek mythology, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. While I didn’t dislike Percy Jackson, I didn’t love it just because of its PG nature. So I’m hoping The Clash of the Titans will be the bloody Greek action film that Percy Jackson wasn’t.
The plot? Perseus (Sam Worthington) leads a group of people in a mission to stop Hades (Ralph Fiennes) from stealing Zeus’ (Liam Neeson) power and unleashing hell on earth. I’m just wondering what on Earth did Sam Worthington do to get so many big roles? Terminator Salvation? Avatar? And now this film? Anyway, Perseus encounters many nasty creatures along his journey including a Kraken and Medusa. It was supposed to be released this weekend; however, it got pushed back to April 2, 2010, so that it could be converted to 3-D.
This is the Action Flick Chick, and you’ve just been kicked in the ass!

First – what is with all the 3D? I did not like 3D when it first came out, I am not sure I will like it now. Second – the first “Clash of the Titans” released in 1981, was my son’s favourite film, so this has a bit of sentimental value for me. I will see it 3D or no.
WOW – the actors in this film are all amazing Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Sam Worthington, Pete Postlehwaite, Mads Mikkelsen (best Danish actor ever) and others. How could this film be bad?
Like you Katrina, I am hoping it will be a “bloody greek action film” WITH brilliant acting. The trailer is amazing. Let us hope the film lives up to it. I did see the trailer on the big screen at a theatre in London a few weeks ago. Looked FAB on the big screen I must say.
BRING ON THE GODS AND THE KRAKEN!
I seen the first one when I was a kid and thought it was some of the greatest special effects…ever. I have not seen it since and I am pretty sure I better not if I want it to still hold that special place in my heart. The remake is bound to be better in so many ways but I just don’t know if I want to sit through yet another movie that I feel I have already seen many years and times before. Where is the originality in movie writing. I don’t mind them “rebooting” something…but at the very least….write a new script. Not excited for this movie but maybe it will suprise me and not be as bad as I am expecting it to be.
