Coming Attraction: The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)!

The Amazing Spider-Man trailer is out! Why do I feel like I’ve seen this film before? Oh that’s right! Because I have! It will only be 10 years since the first Spider-Man film was released when this new one comes out. The Amazing Spider-Man will take us back to when Peter Parker is in high school and is first bit by the radioactive spider. Even though it’s pretty silly that a 10 year old film is getting rebooted, there are a couple of things I am interested in seeing how it turns out, not excited, mind you, just mildly interested. Those things would be Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. I wasn’t in love with Tobey Maguire as Peter in the first series and I’m super glad Mary Jane isn’t in this one. By the end of the original trilogy, I was freakin’ tired of seeing her get kidnapped and need to be saved. Blah. I hope Gwen Stacy is less of a victim than good ol MJ was. The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3, 2012.

I hope it bombs. I know it won’t but I really wish it would. I’m tired of this “Reboot” trend. Even having to say reboot makes my angry. The only way the film industry will stop doing this crap is if it doesn’t make money off of this kinda stuff. I admit that I like some remakes… Texas Chainsaw, Batman, Star Trek, and crap… I even liked the War of the Worlds remake (except for the idiotic idea about the alien ships being underground the whole time). But if I were to choose, I would rather see an interesting NEW story. Hollywood has gone from completely original ideas, to making sequel after sequel, to “Rebooting”, and very soon to not even making movies they’ll just be converting old movies to 3D (I hate that this is a big push because the technology still isn’t worthwhile IMO). See the trend? Of course I’m generalizing. There are still some really creative people in the film industry, they just seem to be slowly outnumbered by accountants. Thank the movie gods for giving us independent films.

I hate to disapoint, but in the comic book she not only needs to be saved often, but Gwen Stacy dies.

They shoudl stop callingthem sequels and call them movie series. ^_^ Sounds better and makes mroe sence that way. trilogies, sets… Anyways I was gettign tired of MJ having to be saved all the time.. she had more guts than that in the comics. Besides the series needed a Reboot anyways. How can you keep the same old same old going forever. it was losing fans and interest. Don;t get me wrong I am a huge spider-man fan since the comics.. but I like the ideas they put in with some of the recent reboots. Instead of mechanised web shooters.. makes sence to have the webs sprout from the appendages.. Near if nto o nthe wridts was a good twist.. back of the next seems a litle extreme. But Who am I to judge. In the comics he completely mutated at one point and doc conors had to help get him back to peter.
I very much enjoy a good reboot but will NOT go to a theater to see it. I would rather rent it for 3 or 5 bucks and save a little money and gas incase it stinks. ^_^

Don’t worry, if Garfield doesn’t work out, they can always re-reboot it. Like they’re doing with Superman. Maybe by that time Justin Bieber might be available to play Spidey.
