After watching Drive Angry 3D, I’ve come to realize that Nicolas Cage’s character, Milton, is really a metaphor for Nicolas Cage. It doesn’t matter what you do to kill Milton, he just keeps coming. It doesn’t matter how hard his film bombs or what critics say about it, Cage will keep making funny and ridiculous, sometimes horrible, films, and by golly, I just can’t get enough.

After seeing Tony Goldwyn in several authoritative roles, I’ve come to the conclusion that he should be running for President of the United States in real life. I mean, he played Fitzgerald Grant, the President of the United States, in Scandal for seven seasons. Then in Plane he plays a crisis manager who gets shit done. So why the hell not? At least he’s got some relevant experience. Tony Goldwyn for President!
Such is life.
It’s a phrase people often say when they know they can’t change or prevent something. There’s always been a fatalistic quality to the John Wick series, this smash hit phenomenon about an ex-hitman who goes on a revenge spree against the mob because they killed his dog. From the very beginning, we get the sense that Mister Wick’s survival is very, very low on his list of priorities. If he should die on his quest to avenge his dog, such is life.
