Spring Cons 2010: Wonderful Pals with Wonderful Pics

A lot of people have been asking about me at WonderCon, which is pretty sweet of them. Nathan Hamill hoped I’d do the con as Slave Leia. My convention plans for April are focused on Texas Frightmare Weekend’s film festival (more on that this week) and hopefully something else along the way. In the meantime, Manuel Yoro (@monkeyjedi) surprised some of us by promoting his favorite websites including actionflickchick.com with an awesome shirt while he’s there (“WonderCon 2010: The Way of the Monkey Jedi“).

I want to show off what some friends are doing there at this month’s conventions. So as people give me permission to post specific photos, we’re going to add some right here, starting with this great shot Adrianne Curry okayed.

At Toronto Comic-Con (a Wizard World convention), a couple of our favorite Hollywood tweeters pose together. Actor Doug Jones has worked on a zillion films (Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Quarantine, Mystery Men, Super CapersMen in Black II, Tank Girl, Legion…the list goes on) and TV shows we enjoy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Weird Al Show).

Adrianne Curry, the first America’s Next Top Model winner, later starred in The Surreal Life and My Fair Brady, appeared in Playboy magazine, commented about idiots caught on camera for The Smoking Gun Presents: World’s Dumbest, and has a kick-ass attitude we adore. When Adrianne and  Lori Dance were wondering if Doug’s on twitter, @actionchick got to tell them oh boy is he everPrevious post:Twitter Talk with Tweets from a Beauty Who Married a Brady: Which Celebs to Follow?

I got my own pics with Doug Jones a little later in the month at a Dallas International Film Festival panel:

So share your photos too! You don’t have to be a celebrity, I just want you guys to show what kind of cool stuff you’re up to at this month’s fan conventions. Tell me through twitter or comment on this post telling me where to get the pic with explicit permission to copy it. I probably can’t use them all, but let’s find out.

This is the Action Flick Chick, and you’ve just been kicked in the ass. Now go kick some photographic butt for yourself.
