Warehouse 13 Showrunner Talks Guests Stars and New Time Slot

Warehouse 13season 4.5 officially premieres tonight at 10/9c on Syfy. We will finally be able to see what happens to Artie (and the world) after last episode’s major cliffhanger. The show is in its new time slot, airing after Syfy’s new show, Defiance. Jack Kenny, showrunner and executive producer for Warehouse 13, explained on a Syfy press call how he has no say in what time slot the show is given. He also explained that he’s not sure if time slots really make much of a difference anymore: “I don’t know that it hurts or helps anymore, especially on a show that’s been on for a while. People just type it into the DVRs and grab it.”

Despite Syfy premiering Warehouse 13 tonight, the first episode has been up for a while on various outlets such as Hulu and On Demand, so Kenny and star Joanne Kelly (Myka) stress the importance of tuning in to watch it live even if you’re already seen the episode. Kenny stated, “But let me add to that please, please, please watch our show live Monday night at least for the next three weeks so our numbers are huge and we get picked up for Season 5.” I’m a fan of the show so I, too, will also implore you to tune in live tonight. We want that fifth season!

The rest of this season will have a sleuth of guest stars. Right out of the gates in the premiere episode Buffy fans will be excited to see James Marsters, and, later in the season Anthony Stewart Head. Jack Kenny and Eddie McClintock took turns naming off other familiar faces we’ll be seeing including the return of H.G. Wells (Jaime Murray). Kenny said in episode 13 Pete and Myka fall into a “world of film noir” and are joined by Missi Pyle and Enrico Colantoni, “sort of a Galaxy Quest reunion.” And Lost fans will be excited to know that Cynthia Watros (Libby) will also be in an episode.

Sounds like there’s a lot to look forward to in the next 10 episodes, so strap in and get watching, people, so the Warehouse 13 train can keep funded and keep rolling.
