Spoiler: Green Zone (2010)

WARNING! This is a spoiler of what happens in Green Zone. I haven’t seen this film, I’m just reporting the info I have gathered.

Roy Miller (Matt Damon) and his squad are in Iraq looking for weapons of mass destruction (WMD) yet can’t seem to find any. Hmmm, I wonder why? He theorizes that he is getting faulty intel reports since he has never found any WMD in any of his missions. Don’t feel bad, Damon, everyone gets duped every now and then.

Miller’s idea is quickly dismissed by his higher ups making him want to investigate it even more. There’s some other stuff going on, blah blah blah…

It all boils down to Miller finds out that an American officer, Poundstone (Greg Kinnear), was informed by an Iraqi general, Al-Rawi (Yigal Naor), that there hasn’t been any WMD program in Iraq since the First Gulf War. Poundstone decides to not tell his higher ups at Washington this information so that they will still invade Iraq.

Miller confronts Poundstone about all of this and Poundstone replies with “We’re not stopping.” The search for WMDs was just a front to invade another country and democratize them. The end shows Miller writing down everything he found out and sending it out to all kinds of journalists and tv stations. It ends by showing him driving off into the Iraqi desert.

I seen Green Zone and while it is no Bourne movie (Matt Damon actually gets his ass beat) it is not bad. The directing like usual for Greengrass is too close….I want to see WTF if going on…not just live it. 3 out 5 WMD’s (Weapons of Matt Damon!)

  2. Thanks for another great article. Where else would anybody get this kind of information in such a amazing way of presentation.
