Predators (2010) – Onscreen Preying Begins Next Week But Online Application Starts the Hunt Now

After seeing Predators listed among the movies I’m eager to see in July, someone on twitter commented, “I don’t think predators will be any good. It is just full of violence,” which is absolutely fine as a basis for their own expectations but a little amusing for me because that’s not exactly a turn-off to the Action Flick Chick.

SYNOPSIS: Robert Rodriguez presents a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, PREDATORS, shot on location under Rodriguez’s creative auspices at the filmmaker’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and directed by Nimrod Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

20th Century Fox just sent me some information on a Predators application you might have fun with:

Ticked-off at some of your buddies on Facebook? Instead of “unfriending” them, why not take them out Predator-style, with a shoulder cannon blast? Has your once-cutting edge site become yesterday’s news? Then, put an end to its misery with a few moves of the Predator Wrist Blade. It’s time to channel your inner-Predator, access and deploy the alien hunters’ arsenal, and track and destroy the websites – and their occupants – of your choice. The hunt is on at www.Predators-Movie.com, where you can take control of the Predators Weapons Overlay, and get down to business with the alien beings’ Shoulder Cannon, Wrist Blade, Net Gun, and Spear. Trap, blast and slash – like the Predators do at www.Predators- Movie.com!

I’m kind of on the fence about this movie, because I’m not an Adrian Brody fan. But I like the Rodriguez, so I might wind up liking it. As for the guy who said this movie will be nothing but violence, remember, the first two ‘Predator’ movies weren’t exactly family friendly either.
