Documentary: Best Worst Movie (2009)

Posted By Action Flick Chick on June 7, 2010

Do you remember that awful movie Troll 2? The movie that’s so epically awful that it’s also hilarious and awesome!?! I would have to say that Troll 2 is my favorite best worst movie right now, and I have seen a lot of bad movies. There’s just never a dull moment in that film and now we get to see the people behind the film talk about their experiences thanks to Michael Stephenson. He played Joshua Waits, the little kid who “pissed on hospitality,” in Troll 2. Now, 20 years later, he created the documentary Best Worst Movie, capturing the thoughts and behind the scene stories from the actors and writers.

This documentary explores the lives of the actors now, and what was going through their heads when they were filming Troll 2. I, for one, had to know what was going through the head of the writer/director team, Claudio Fragasso and Rossella Drudi, and whether or not they knew their creation was bad…I’ll let you watch the film and decide the answer to that question for yourself. It was funny, it was awkward, and some of it was kind of sad; however, I enjoyed the film immensely and would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Troll 2 and is wondering what happened?

I was able to interview Michael Stephenson about the documentary and that will be up later in the week. There will be screenings of Best Worst Movie all over the country. You can check www.bestworstmovie.com for a location near you. They will be in Dallas June 11 with some of the cast in attendance, including Michael Stephenson and George Hardy. Sadly, I won’t be able to go, but maybe you can go and show some love for me. Make sure to chug some green milk while you’re there!

This is the Action Flick Chick, and you’ve just been kicked in the ass!
