Chicks Who Don’t Want Flowers: Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

If you want to see a true blue kick-ass chick, then Buffy would be the perfect choice! Buffy stars in a film, tv series, and now a comic book series along with a motion comic. People just can’t get enough of her! And whether your favorite version of Buffy was portrayed by Kristy Swanson or Sarah Michelle Gellar, the character is a force to be reckoned with. We can thank the incredible Joss Whedon for that.

Buffy is one woman who would love a new axe, stake, or jar of Holy water rather than get little old flowers for Valentine’s Day (even though I’m sure she would find a way to use flowers as a weapon). One of the things that makes Buffy such a fantastic heroine is because she didn’t want to be a heroine, but she took on the responsibility despite that. Buffy goes from being a superficial cheerleader to a hardened, resourceful warrior who had to make all kinds of sucky sacrifices in her own life so that the world may survive. If you haven’t seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series, I highly recommend it.

A big thanks goes out to Whedon for creating such an awesome female heroine role model.

  1. So true!! BtVS is my #1 all time favorite television series. I bet she’d like a larger weapons chest. The one she has is way too small by now. 🙂

Hrmmm I might actually have to disagree with this one. While Buffy surely kicks butt, I think she’s still got enough of a girly side to apreciate a simple romantic gesture… sometimes ya need a break from Slaying to pretend you’ve got a normal life too, right?

*note – this may not be true after she died and came back. Then she was full-on hardcore.

Who could NOT like Buffy? They would have to be brain dead – IMHO. She became one hard-assed chick, that kicked some serious vamp, demon and various nasty asses!
