Punisher: War Zone follows the story of Frank Castle, (played by Ray Stevenson in this rendition) and takes place after his family has been killed and he’s made a name for himself in the town as the Punisher. This time Frank is going after a mob boss who, in an earlier encounter, was horribly disfigured [...]

Superheroes: We cover our cheekbones so no one will recognize us! I think Green Lantern is the first film to acknowledge just how silly it is that just because a superhero has a tiny mask on, no one they know will ever be able to recognize them. Uh oh, I can’t recognize my child I’ve [...]

Jump in your time machine and go back to 1979 when there were no iPads or even cell phones! This was also the time when movies were filmed by using Super 8 cartridges (a roll of 8mm wide film,) instead of the all digital route. Hmmm, sounds like a lot more work. I think I [...]

When I first heard about Sucker Punch, I thought it looked great. And I was right, it looked great, but it was not a great movie. Set in the 1950s, Baby Doll (Emily Browning) is sent to a mental institution by her stepfather after her mother dies. There she is scheduled to have a lobotomy [...]

This year’s SXSW Film Festival brought forth a dark, action comedy by the name of Super. This film has a fantastic cast and was written by James Gunn, the writer of my favorite zombie flick, Dawn of the Dead (2004). The cast and writer alone had me Jonesing to see this film so it was [...]

It’s been a while since I’ve linked a song with a movie so here you go. Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) and almost every male in The Mechanic can best be summarized by Paula Abdul’s song “Cold Hearted.” For those of you who aren’t cool like me and don’t know the song, these are the lyrics [...]

On a separate note, did you hear what happened to me and my town. Sheriff Dutton (Timothy Olyphant) and his pregnant wife, Judy (Radha Mitchell), started telling everyone that our citizens were “crazy” or something. I just don’t see where all the “craziness” is though. We aren’t crazy! Just accident prone!

Manspeak! Whoo hooo, I love it! The Wolfman gave us another great example of the kind of manly conversations we saw in Pale Rider. Toward the beginning of the film, Lawrence’s (Benicio Del Toro) father (Anthony Hopkins) saves him from being captured and experimented on. After scaring off Lawrence’s would-be captors, dear old daddy looks [...]
