Holy space balls! The Expendables 2 will hit theaters this weekend, and producer Avi Lerner is already talking about who will show up in Expendables 3. In an interview by Total Film, Lerner discusses who’s in the works for another film: “We’ve approached Clint Eastwood to be one of the guys, we’ve got a character in mind for him. We’re talking to Harrison Ford. [And we want] Wesley Snipes when he comes back from prison. I’ll give you one more name, we’ve got Nicolas Cage to play [one of the characters]. And we’re going to bring Mickey Rourke back, if he won’t be too crazy. I like Mickey. And of course, all the existing stars [will return]”
I’ll say it again: holy space balls! How amazing would it be if they could really pull in all of those legendary men? Of course, just because they are approaching some of these guys doesn’t mean we’ll see them in the third installment, but it does mean that there’s a chance. Sounds like Nicolas Cage has already agreed to the film, but that’s no surprise seeing as how he doesn’t turn down anything. Now they just need to add a few action chicks and we’ll be all set. This would be the third installment, after all, it’s time to add some kick ass women to the boys club…or create a separate female Expendables.
